Willy Ronis has humanistically embraced the major social issues of the 20th century. In this film, he lends himself to the game of self-portraiture. He looks back on his beginnings, the major issues that shaped his art, and the battles he waged to ensure that his images were not simply used as illustrations in the press. Going through his archives, he delves into the history of his emblematic images and invites us to experience the few minutes that preceded them. He also tells us about the importance of Baroque music and Flemish painting in his apprenticeship as a photographer, shaping a polyphonic art form over time.
