EURODOC MED

The annual EURODOC MED workshop is open to producers working in Mediterranean countries - Europe, the Near/Middle East and North Africa - with a documentary project in development or in production. This selective, itinerant and multilingual workshop addresses writing, development and international co-production, with an emphasis on structuring production companies and careers, as well as on cooperation and co-production within the Mediterranean region.

Since its creation, EURODOC has been deeply involved in training and networking producers from countries in the MENA region. This is illustrated by the two films that jointly won the Œil d’Or at Cannes in 2023: FOUR DAUGHTERS by Kaouther Ben Hania (EURODOC09) and THE MOTHER OF ALL LIES by Asmae El Moudir (EURODOC18 - a project developed through our training programme).

Between 2006 and 2017, EURODOC MED trained approximately 30 producers from countries in the MENA region, including Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia. A new edition was relaunched in Corsica in May 2023 in collaboration with Corsica.Doc, with the support of the Cullettività di Corsica, and was renewed in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Over four years, EURODOC MED has trained 55 professionals from across the Mediterranean region. We have constantly stressed the relevance and the power of panafrican bonds between MENA, North African, and subsaharan African film sectors within the MED program.

In 2026, EURODOCMED will took place once again in Ajaccio, Corsica from April 27 to May 1, welcoming a cohort of 23 producers, producer-directors and observers from 13 countries around the Mediterranean and MENA region, this session was supported thanks to our long-standing partnership with the CNC and with the support of IEFTF. Participants recieved individual support from the Veneto Film Commission and MBC Academy.

In 2025, 60% of participants graded their satisfaction to 10/10 and 40% to 9/10. 100% of participants showed interest in applying to the EURODOC annual training or another short program following this workshop.
