The New Plastic Road is a character-driven documentary film that reveals the gradual economic and social change underway in the remote, destitute communities east of Tajikistan in the Pamir Mountains. Our story is about the growth and change in this remote region of Tajikistan where our main character Davlat lives and evolves in his daily life. The road that connects the two countries – China and Tajikistan, the road that connects two different societies and cultures is part of the ancient Silk Road.
