In the Northern Ethiopia can be found the Waldebba region, the birthplace of the Ethiopian Christianism, entirely dedicated to the monastic life. A thousand of monks and hermits live there, hidden and sheltered from the profane world, following a life of abstinence, fasting and perpetual prays.
