This is the story of a beautiful island, locked in its secrets and denials: Sri Lanka. At the heart of the former combat zone lies the memory of the civil war, one of the most terrible and least known in contemporary history. A journalist who lived through the conflict returns to these places haunted by the memory of the massacres. Seven years after the events, the survivors come out of their silence. In a road-movie-like quest, the film takes us on an encounter with a nation and its wounds. Following the ancient exodus route through the jungle, the journalist follows in the footsteps of a relentless mechanism. All the way to the final trap: the heavenly beach of Mullivaikal, where more than 300,000 encircled civilians found themselves under the fury of bombs in the spring of 2009. For the witnesses and survivors of the war, reopening the memory of the forbidden comes at a price.
