Mohamed, a young African man, is the only survivor among 47 who set out in a rubber dinghy. Vito, a good-humoured captain from Mazara in Sicily rescued him from the brink of death. There is a huge and unique energy between them, a bond like the one between father and son is formed. The rescue was a miracle for Vito. Now that the guy finds himself in difficult circumstances in Paris, Vito has invited him to Sicily, promising to help Mohamed find work and to welcome him into his family.
