A portrait of the very wealthy Lebanese businessman Rafiq Hariri, who built his fortune in the countries of the Persian Gulf. Former prime minister of "reconstruction" who wanted to make Beyrut a Mecca for Arab and Western investors and speculators. A film whose ambiton, in an ironic tone, is to be a pamphlet about money, good and evil, a sort of western against a background of ruins and speculation. Indeed, doesn't money, which is undoubtedly a synonym for happiness for some people, signify unhappiness for a greater number ? Can ultra-liberalism, which has become the intrusive economic creed, be the basis of the harmonious reconstruction of a country devastated by war or is it only a speculative bubble that is destined to burst ? Hariri is going to be obliged to examine himself.
