On January 8, 2005, two friends, Don Shirley and David Shaw, top divers and masters of their craft, dive in a cave in the Kalahari Desert: Boesmansgat, the Bushman's Gate. 283 meters below surface level, at the bottom of the cave, lies the body of young Deon Dreyer: the friends' goal is to recover it. If successful, it would be the deepest body recovery ever attempted. No one knew that from that dive, Dave would not be coming back.
