It is the fabulous story of a mother, Glinda, and her son, Chantz (Chance), given the name because he should never have been born. Glinda and Chantz share an ambiguous relationship, but full of tenderness and complicity. They are originally from the ‘old’ south of the United States, Mississippi, where the legends of gospel are merged with perpetual poverty. The musical backdrop in their lives is Blues and Jazz. Their legendary idol is Louis Armstrong. Chantz is 17 years old. He has been playing the trumpet since the age of five. He has exceptional talent that fascinates the public and brings the sympathy of well-known artists.Chantz and his mother live their life on the road, depending on the invites they receive. Without being absolutely poor, they have no fixed address and live in hotels. Chantz plays in the street, but also in the most prestigious places... Chantz is not only the child prodigy of a pygmalion mother. He is also the only hope for a woman who has pulled herself out of misery, determined to do something with her life.Together, they follow a path towards the success they are hoping for, with danger and uncertainty along the way, with accelerations and pauses, with joy and pain, like a blues song or a Jazz improvisation. Through the eyes of a director who meets them along the way, fascinated and critical at the same time, a composition is performed in front of us.
