Pedagogy

The EURODOC Pedagogical team (Head of Studies, Group Leaders, analysts, experts, consultants) is composed of professionals actively engaged in the sector that are directly and continuously exposed to changing trends, problems and evolutions in the documentary sector. They are constantly reflecting on how to improve the program. Feedback from the participants of the previous sessions is taken into strong account in order to check that the content proposed addressed their needs. This reflection is also carried out thanks to the large EURODOC network, enabling the Pedagogical committee to consult a wide panel of the most relevant figures of each sector of the audio-visual industry for suggestions and information.  Therefore, each year, the proposal for master classes, case studies, plenary session is re-discussed on the basis of the most recent evolutions in the documentary sector. By proposing master classes with prominent figures from the documentary sector, EURODOC provides a unique opportunity for reflection and discussion on the future forms of documentary film funding and for learning about new forms of creation and production.

The pedagogy of EURODOC is based first of all on an ethical approach to the profession. A EURODOC producer is someone who is inspired by a love for cinema, but also by a strong desire to play an active role in her/his society, with the belief that creative documentary filmmaking addresses the others in terms of sharing outlooks and knowledge.

The highly intense nature of the working process contributes to fostering exchanges between participants and experts. It helps build the personal relations upon which is based the preparation work for co-productions and collaborations of all types and develops trans-national networks.
